Originally published by SkepticalScience.com, The Debunking Handbook has recently been translated by Transitions and SEENPM in Macedonian and Albanian versions.

Since first being published in 2011, The Debunking Handbook, a guide to debunking misinformation, has been translated into 18 languages. The two authors of the original handbook, Stephan Lewandowsky and John Cook, got in touch with other researchers who look into how best to counter misinformation and 20 of them signed up as co-authors which resulted in The Debunking Handbook 2020.

The Handbook explores the surprising fact that debunking myths can sometimes reinforce the myth in peoples’ minds. It distills the most important research findings and current expert advice about debunking misinformation and looks at a key element to successful debunking: providing an alternative explanation. The Handbook is designed to be useful to all communicators who have to deal with misinformation.
