North Macedonia is taking part in the 8th UNESCO Global Media and Information Literacy Week by organizing a host of events from 22 October to 15 November 2019: workshops, debates, webinars, open days and other MIL-related events.
From 22 October to 15 November 2019, the Media Literacy Network will be holding the Media Literacy Days event. This is the way by which our country is taking part in the 8th UNESCO Global Media and Information Literacy Week, due to take place from 24 to 31 October 2019.
During these four weeks, the Macedonian citizens will have an opportunity to take part in some thirty workshops, debates, webinars, open days and other events focused on the various aspects of media literacy.
The aim of the Media Literacy Days, which will be held under the motto: “STOP, THINK, CHECK!”, is to raise public awareness of the importance of media literacy, acquaint different categories of citizens of all age groups – children, youth, adults and the elderly – with media literacy and help them acquire media literacy skills; to provide a platform for collaboration, exchange of experiences and development of sustainable media literacy projects among professionals coming from different social spheres of action: public, private, state, governmental, non-governmental organizations, individuals and media, both from Skopje and from other cities around the country.
