‘Media for Citizens – Citizens for Media’ is seeking proposals aimed at building capacities of CSOs in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia to promote Media and Information Literacy (MIL) practices and policies at local level.
Seven media development organizations in the Western Balkans have joined forces under an EU funded project, Media for Citizens – Citizens for Media (2018 – 2021), to build capacities of CSOs to advance media and information literacy (MIL) in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia.
Within the project, the implementing partner organizations are seeking proposals aimed at building capacities of CSOs in each of these countries to promote Media and Information Literacy (MIL) practices and policies at local level.
Who can apply?
The call for proposals is open to CSOs – professional associations, advocacy groups, community media, start-up incubators established as CSOs, art companies/troupes – with media, education, advocacy, public campaigning, art programs production or development of digital innovation projects. In particular, CSOs promoting equal opportunities (for the youth, the elderly, minorities, ethnic groups) are encouraged to apply.
What kinds of projects will be supported?
Two types of projects will be supported:
LOT 1: Projects supporting enhancement of citizens’ media and information literacy skills
The lot is focused on the provision of frontline support by CSOs to education workers, librarians, citizens, and media workers. Types of eligible activities include: education activities; outreach activities.
LOT 2: Creative innovations – Art, media and technology production projects promoting innovation and accessibility in MIL education.
Under this lot, cross-sector cooperation among IT, media, art and education sectors is looked for. Types of eligible activities: production; IT development; art projects.
Budget and duration of proposed projects
The budget for this call for proposals is EUR 20,000 in each country, EUR 10,000 for each lot.
The requested grant must be between EUR 3,000 and 5,000.
Duration of projects should be between 6 and 12 months. Activities can commence on the date of contract signature and should end by the end of May 2020 at the latest.
